This piece of junk was a mess the minute we opened the box. The threadbars were sheared in several places, stopping the nut before the frame could be secured against the walls.
After doing the manufacturer’s work for them and re-tapping the threadbars, we tightened the nuts until the plastic end-pieces were firmly against the wall; but they kept slipping and sliding regardless of how tight they were. Applying more pressure dented the sheetrock in our walls.
Then, as our daughter was observing us trying to make this poorly manufactured pile of garbage actually work – it fell, clipping her mouth on the way down.
So much for “KidCrap” products. No more for us.
Needless to say, we replaced it and are now happy with a wooden version from a manufacturer who actually knows how to build something.

This gate is great because it swings. It took me only a few minutes to install and I used it until my son turned two. It is very durable and still looks like brand new even though it was in a high trafic area. One note is to be sure and keep track of the tool that comes with it for when you want to take it down and for tightening it up from time to time. I would recomend this product to a friend.

the gate was easy to install. took a few mins to adjust the gate. but once it’s in the door way it works ok. the only to things i do not like are the latch to open and close can be difficult. also there is a metal threshhold across the floor. thats the support so you have to remember to make a step over.which took my son some time to get used to. also in the late night i’ve stubbed a few toes. but over all it a good swing gate.

This gate looks so much better than those white plastic ones. It looks great with the stainless steel appliances in the kitchen. As it stands it looks like it is part of the house. And we didn’t even have to drill any holes so it can be removed at any time. It seems to be withstanding the pressures of a 1 year old and a 3 year old.

I purchased this gate just recently because I have a eleven month old son who is always trying to climb up the stairs. I purchased an inexpensive gate several months ago and it wouldn’t even mount properly. There are several reasons why I am so pleased with this gate:
1). It’s pressure mounted so there are no holes in my walls.
2). Each of the pressure mounts can be adjusted individually. What I mean by that is each pressure mount twists forward until it reaches the wall. The reason this was so important for me was because my home has old wood work and the baseboards are almost seven inches high and about an inch thick. If each of the pressure mounts were not separately adjustable, then the gate would meet at the baseboard, but would not be able to touch the wall. This gate handles that dilemma beautifully.
3). It’s extremely durable and sturdy. My son grasps onto it and shakes it violently and it doesn’t budge. And because it’s made of metal, there are no worries about splinters and cracking.
4). It’s attractive and comes in different colors. We choose white and it looks great.
5). It was wide enough that I could mount it at the bottom landing of our stairway without an extension. There are extension kits available if you need them though.
6). Finally, I like the swing door feature. I can use the gate with one hand so it’s convenient when I have my son in the other hand. The handle is also very easy to open and close with one hand.
I know this is a lot of info but when I was searching for a gate, these are the types of things I wanted to know.
I highly recommend this gate to anyone looking for one for the bottom of their stairs or a doorway.
