Dream Baby Hallway Security Gate
We just got this gate. First, when I opened it, I immediately thought that it was bent because the gate didn’t come close to the latch. I called the company and they tried to say that it was a UPS problem and said that they would send me a new one that would arrive in 3 business days. I was okay with that, except I would have preferred that they would have overnighted it. However, when we tried the gate, it wasn’t actually bent. It straightened out once it was pressure mounted. The latch is a bit on the shaky side, but it is fine for our 9 month old as he will not fall down the stairs. Also…my 6 year old and 3 year old can get through which I am thankful for. I didn’t want to have to go open for them each time. Seems to me that the company should have been able to tell me what I should do about what I thought was a faulty gate. I had ordered a banister protector from One STep Ahead and I don’t need it all because this has such great pressure mounts. So….I might have given this a four star except that I was a little upset with Babyage for not knowing that it just needed to be installed in order for it to latch properly. Now…I have to call them back and tell them to cancel the reorder and return pick up. Kind of a pain.

Maybe it’s because I have a 10 month old all over the place and getting into everything or maybe because I’m tired and didn’t read carefully enough but I feel like the description for this gate which only fits an opening up to 42.5″ should not be talking about the extensions that you need to order separately in the description.
It reads “It is important to remember to measure the area in which the gate is going to be used so that a proper fitment can take place. The baby gate from Dream Baby also features optional extensions which are sold separately. It allows the gate to expand to fit an opening over 63 inches in width. ”
I scanned the description and thought that this product would fit an opening to 63 inches. Nope, need to order extensions for that, this one only fits to 42.5 inches. Truly irritating but it did the part I can’t use without making another purchase did get her quickly and seems like it will be easy to open and install.
